Over the course of five weeks, more than 50 Virginia Baptists volunteered in South Carolina to help families begin the cleanup process. See the story of one family assisted by a BGAV team.
Our first flood recovery response team arrived in South Carolina and began working outside Conway. Neighbors have been inquisitive and initiated conversations about assistance they could receive. We’re glad our volunteers are already building relationships and making connections!
We are now filling teams for the next few weeks:
- October 24-31
- November 1-7
- November 8-15
If you are interested in joining a team, please indicate your interest online.

We also sent a shower unit to help set up a response site in Columbia, SC, where volunteer teams will be housed in the weeks to come.
You may donate to Disaster Response to help with relief efforts. Be sure to select Carolina’s Flood Relief as the designation.
