When flooding struck Hurley last August, most people would never have guessed they would still not be in their homes by Easter. Virginia Baptist Disaster Response has been working with homeowners helping them get back in their homes, and you can help the rest of them return home soon. Two weeks of volunteer teams will be enough to restore the homeowners we’re serving back to the homes they had before the flood. Please Volunteer below – construction experience is helpful but not required. Housing and meals provided at Grundy Baptist Church.
One Hurley homeowner who has been displaced from his home since August has made a special impact on us. When we met him, he was working nights and spending his days cleaning out mud and tearing out the damaged areas of his home. We have walked alongside him through mold remediation and several stages of repair, and we are now working to get him back to a fully restored home. You can help return them to their home by serving in Hurley in the coming weeks. Housing, meals, and construction leadership will all be provided.
