Virginia Baptist Disaster Response Food Buckets
We’re asking churches and individuals to prepare for this hurricane season by making “Food Buckets”, which can actually be buckets, boxes, or bags. Instead of sending those to a central location, they’re prepackaged meals that can quickly be shared by churches if a storm strikes their community. At the end of hurricane season, you can pass the food on to local food banks and food pantries, so they get to people in need. These are very basic options that will give families two days of food while feeding operations get up to speed. Our Impact Mission Camps summer staff have prepared a video showing you multiple ways to package the food so it’s easy to distribute should the need arise.
